Evelyn Deturk

Evelyn was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, in 1912. She earned her degree from Juniata College and later worked as a testing counselor in the Austin Public Schools before becoming a homemaker. In her later years, she found joy in activities like bowling and playing bridge.

After moving to Austin, Texas, in 1941 with her husband, Jack E. Myers, Evelyn dedicated herself to raising their family. She and Jack shared 60 years of marriage and raised four daughters. Their home grew even fuller in 1960, when they welcomed and raised Jack's five nieces and nephews following a tragic loss in the family.

Evelyn passed away on Sunday, December 21, 1997, at the age of 85.
